From installing pioneering pieces of tech to launching an industry leading app, we're looking back at what's been an exciting year for CitiPark

On the 8th March, we celebrated International Women's Day 2019

International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Over 50% of our staff at HQ are female, so we marked the occasion by celebrating these talented individuals. Check out the video below…

We were awarded the prestigious Park Mark for Rickmansworth

Imagine a BAFTA for the parking world… Well, that's the Park Mark. Awarded by the Safer Parking Scheme, an organisation that works across the UK to make car parks safer for customers, the Park Mark enables drivers to find car parks where they can confidently leave their vehicle, knowing the environment is safe.

We took home the 'Contributing to the Community’ award at the Yorkshire Business Master Awards 2019.

The judges awarded the accolade on key initiatives delivered by CitiPark, namely the Pay for Parking in Plastic recycling scheme and our National Clean Air Day campaign.

We developed an innovative, industry-leading mobile application in-house. It's kind of a big deal..

In June, we launched the CitiPark mobile app developed entirely in-house. The app, available on iOS and Android, streamlines the payment process with 'Mobile Pay' and features an intuitive pre-booking system.

Our flagship branch celebrated its 55th birthday!

CitiPark's flagship branch, Merrion Centre, celebrated its 55th anniversary on the 30th May 2019. To mark the occasion, Dr. Marjorie Ziff MBE Hon RCM, wife of the late Mr. Arnold Ziff OBE (founder of CitiPark's parent company) unveiled a month-long exhibition in the Merrion Centre.

We launched a subscription-free electric vehicle (EV) charging network, CitiCharge..

Born from our going green ethos, CitiCharge seeks to improve the UK's charging infrastructure and by doing so, eradicate the obstacles to the mass adoption of EVs.

which went on to install Leeds City Centre’s first rapid charger!

In May, CitiCharge installed a rapid charger at our flagship car park in Leeds, which the Yorkshire Evening Post described as “a piece of pioneering technology that underlines Leeds's credentials as an eco-friendly city.”

Team CitiPark took part in some tough challenges in aid of core charities

Our amazing staff took part in some testing challenges, such as The UCI 2019 World Championship Official Sportive and Leeds Big Sleep, raising money for Leeds Cares, St George's Crypt and St Gemma's Hospice.

CitiPark and CitiCharge got a little bigger

In July, CitiCharge expanded its UK presence with the installation of two EV chargers a retail park in Milngavie, serving Aldi, Home Bargains and Waitrose.

CitiPark's portfolio also grew a little bigger this year, with the addition of two new car parks in Manchester.

We pimped our ride for Halloween

This year, we celebrated Halloween with the launch of Trunk or Treat, where customers of the Merrion Centre could have their pick from hundreds of FREE sweets, treats and more – and who said car parks aren't fun?!

and how could we forget Freddie the Fox

Our Merrion Centre car park had an unusual visitor in 2019, dubbed Freddie the Fox. Freddie proved quite the news-breaker – even BBC Radio Leeds wanted to interview our staff to hear about its adventures.

2019, it's been epic. 2020 here we come!
