Leading EV Operator Charge Forward with New Rugby League Sponsorship
CitiCharge, the subscription-free electric vehicle charging network owned and managed by CitiPark, is proud to announce its partnership with the Goole Vikings Rugby League Club.
This exciting collaboration positions CitiCharge as an Official Player Sponsor, as well as becoming the Official Partner of the Goole Vikings Business Club – showcasing their commitment to community engagement.
As part of the partnership, CitiCharge will sponsor former Super League player Thomas Minns, and serve as the title sponsor of the Vikings’ new Business Club, working alongside other notable brands, such as the club’s main sponsor, Jacuzzi®.
The sponsorship aligns CitiCharge’s mission to improve the awareness of the EV charging infrastructure in the UK with the Goole Vikings’ sustainability plans, supporting the club in spreading awareness and educating the community on making EV infrastructure more accessible for all.

About Goole Vikings
The Goole Vikings, European rugby league’s newest professional club, have made significant strides since their reformation in 2018. Despite a history in the sport dating back to the 1800s, rugby league in Goole has only been played at amateur level over the last 100 years.
However, in the last six years, the club has grown rapidly to build an open-age amateur team, several junior teams and continues to explore women’s rugby league, before forming their first professional team since 1902.
In September 2024, the Rugby Football League approved the Goole Vikings’ application to join Betfred League One, the third tier of professional rugby league, for the 2025 season, staving off competition from eleven other towns and the cities in the UK.
The club is led by former Super League Chief Executive James Clark, who was brought up locally, as well as former England international rugby league player, Scott Taylor, who has been appointed as head coach. James is joined on the board by the club’s Chairman Mark Richardson, a local businessman and rugby league fanatic, alongside the club’s President Anthony Whiteley, who has been instrumental in the club’s resurrection, and Andy Barras, the Chairman of the Goole Vikings amateur club.
